I do not think that makes you look cheap, no more then someone knitting a hat for a gift or cross stitching a pillowcase, making a stained glass mirror. You are creating something special for the people you care for. I for one would enjoy your gift.

Some of the best gifts I have ever received were home burned CD's -- at least the person knows you have take n the time to consider what they might like, and that you want to share with them. We're all a bit short of pocket change these days...heck, if you wanted to make me a CD, I'd have no complaints! Just be sure it's thoughtful!

No,I think it is very thoughtful because you are taking out the time to choose particular songs and going to the trouble to decorate and personalize them which I think is very sweet. Anybody can go inside a store and buy a CD but it can't replace the love and care into the ones you are giving to loved ones.Homemade gifts are the best gifts of all because they come from the heart.

It relies upon, in case you're making him a selection of songs which you elect distinctly for him then i think of this is a surprising present. I do it for terribly particular human beings and it actually takes quite some time cuz I hear to the lyrics heavily and fairly evaluate that person. the different presents are superb, yet once you will supply him an album CD it is going to be new in this occasion.

I have never given it as a gift, but I love to do that too. I have burned probably about 100 CD's to give to family and friends, just because I wanted to share some good music, once I know what they like. Some people have their own likes and dislikes, so I think to give something else, or money to buy what they like. I gave a couple and found out that they really did not like it, but they seemed to like that kind of music. So, it is just hard to know for sure.

remember that the main part of a gift is the love and time you put in it, not the price.
If you literally go through the time to get their favorite singers and personlize the whole CD just for them. It's all good.
If you just grab some randy cd from your shelf, burn it, toss it into an empty case and hand it to them, yeah, it's no good.

No I think it is brilliant. It's the thought that counts not the money spent. if someone gave me a cd with my top 20 favorite songs I would be delighted, Even more than receiving a toaster oven that will end up at a yard sale (-:.

Blank CD-Rs cost 40c and the rip/burn process takes 15 or 20 minutes of your time. What do you think? Its OK as a supplemental gift but not as the main or only gift.

I think it is great because when you buy a cd there are lots of songs on there you would rather switch out with another one. You are taking care of that problem for them and putting the songs they want to hear.

If you're going to send me one, then NO, it doesn't make you look cheap....LOL.
It's the thougth that counts. You're being creative and investing your time and talents into it, so I'd say it's worth it.
Ask them if they'd rather had another CD or a free carwash/oil change/tire rotation/front end alignment. If they turn down the CD, say "sorry...can't help you there".
