Go to the Clinic. Tell them you have no Health Insurance so that the State can assist you, if you qualify . They'll give you a form to fill out. The questions asked are pertaining to your Medical and Family history. They're not annoying but will help them in treating you if complications arise.
You'll be given a health card.that has an ID number on it so a lot of the information needed upon admission to the Hospital will appear on the computer screen once your ID number is inputted.Try to have all of your other information together prior to going to the Hospital so you won't end up having your baby in the HALLWAY of the Hospital as they're asking all of those " forever" Questions like how far apart are the pains, any bleeding, has you water broken, etc.?
You'll get a Hospital bill only if you can't pay before you leave, but if you have the health card you won't have to pay, except for what you're qualified to pay. The State pays if you qualify at, "no cost" to you.
I hope that helps. God Bless you and your Baby.

First thing is this...Do you live in California? If yes, apply for medi-cal and WIC (Woman, Infant and children). You will get coverage for free or with a share of cost. Second, I would suggest that you call the hospital and ask them what the protocal is for your situation. Most State and/or counties have programs that can help you. Then there wont be any surprises other then if it is a boy or girl.
Also, check into your county hospital, they have a tendancy to be better priced and are a little more flexible. But they can not turn you away.
When you see your Dr. ask him what hospital he works out of. That way you know ahead of time where you are going. Then sign up for that hospitals Stork Tour. They will prepare you with all the paperwork and necessary questions the hospital needs.
Lastly, be prepared that at some point in your labor you will feel all the questions are annoying.
Bless you and good luck in one of the most important journeys you will ever embark on.

Depending on the hospital, they should hopefully give you some billing information...payment plans, financial aid, possibly a medicaid packet of info. You should not have to put a cent down. After being discharged, call the billing office with questions on how to pay for your visit.
The hospital won't ask to many questions before you go into labor, especially if your in active labor. It will be the usual name, date of birth, OB doctor...etc. Nothing to be at all worried about.
Congratulations and good luck!

Normally if you do not have insurance they can't turn you do if your in labor or having your baby, they will just bill you so no you don't have to pay before you leave. All hospital staff are different, but some questions they asked me were: am i hurting bad, do i need some pain meds., do i know what im having, etc. These questions were annoying to me cause they asked more than once and using their common sense they shoul have already known.

If you don't have insurance I can imagine your not getting prenatal care.
You probably qualify for a medical card and prenatal care is very important to the health of your baby.
I'm going to assume you are not getting prenatal care at this point and if your not please at least take the prenatal vitamins that you can get over the counter in the vitamin section at any walmart or any other store. This is very very very important to not only the health of your baby but your own as well. Like to doctor told me, the baby will take what it needs from you and you will be the one that suffers the most.
If indeed you are in a situation where you can't or feel you can't get prenatal care look into your local free clinic or county clinic, there are all sorts of resourses to help mothers to be.
But no, unless it is a private hospital ER's can't refuse medical treatment to anyone regardless of their ability to pay and all the questions are for your benefit so answer them truthfully. The people asking the questions are the best people that can point you into a direction of getting help if you need it.

Most big hospitals have a social worker on site or some other department that will help you fill out a Medicaid application.
How have you been paying for the doctors' visits up until now?

Depends on the hospital that you are in, most of them will send you a bill. Now as for all the annoying questions, I'm not really sure because I had a c section and they just gave me a catheter, a pill for stomach acid and sent me to the operation room where they gave me the spinal block and the next thing you know I was numb from the waist down.

It takes about 15 mins to fill out the application....and then you go into an interview with a case worker they ask you basic questions about your life....and then they say ok its all done....and then you dont have to pay for jack shyt.....i have my insurance and medicaid as a secondary and whatever my insurance doesnt cover medicaid does.....meaning I dont have to pay for the delievery, doctor bills, medications....and my baby will be covered until he-she (dont know what the babies sex is yet) is 21 years old..if you ask me....if you dont go get on it....your just lazy

You need to go and apply for medicaid if you can not pay your medical bills. They can put a rush on it for emergency situations. You are not going to get away with giving out false imformation about your idenity to get out of paying hospital bills. You will just ruin your own credit.
