What will my skin look like right after a chemical peel? I heard you will look red and flakey. How many days until those effects are gone, and the good effects are visible?

Considering a glycolic peel at a clinical spa. Don't know the strength- enough to even skin and help with some scars.

its probably a 30 % peel, which means that if you have sensitive skin, you will end up w/ redness/blotchiness for up to a week after; if you have normal skin it will probably stay red for about 4 days. also, toward the end of the week, your skin will start to peel for 2-3 days as though you had a sunburn. they will probably recommend an exfoliant & moisturizer; make sure you follow only their suggestions bcuz other products may damage your new, sensitive skin. also make sure to use a sunscreen of atleast 20spf everyday after treatment. after you heal, your skin will be softer, w/ a more even color; any dark spots or acne scars will be lighter, pores smaller, and after several visits more serious acne scars will be gone. good luck!

Depends on the type of peel. If it's by your local beauty spa a day of redness. Once you get into the peels done by a doctor under anesthesia, your skin will be red for at least a week. Then there is the deeper peel done by a doctor under anesthesia where you can't go outside for 2 weeks and the redness could last up to 6 months.

You probably won't have much downtime, in fact you will probably be presentable the next day, maybe just a little red. You may see flaking or you might not, just use plenty of moisturizer and sunblock. You should see improvements in skin texture, elasticity, complexion and other imperfections. You will need several treatments over a 6-12 week period and then monthly maintenance peels to keep the results. good luck : )
