I keep on reading that you can get an infection after a miscarriage, but is this a vaginal infection, or uterine infection? And how do they treat them? Just antibiotics?

endometritis is the infection of the local tissue there, septicemia is also possible.

If the miscarriage is not complete, it is possible to develop a uterine infection. Call your Doctor if you have a fever, severe abdominal pain, foul smelling discharge from your vagina or any heavy bleeding ( by heavy I mean changing pads every 1-2 hours). I have had 2 miscarriages, but they were very early so it was like having another period, just lasting longer.
