I believe that one made Car Craft's list of the 10 Worst V8 Engines of All Time. Seriously. Its small bore size limits what cylinder heads you can run on it, the stock heads are aweful smog pieces, and the smaller displacement makes it much less potent than other smallblock Chevies. I'd say to go with a 350 or even a 305 instead.

I had a 1982 Chevy Caprice with that engine in it. It had 265,000 miles on it when I sold it. Kind of under powered in the big Caprice but very reliable for me. It was also known as the 4.4. Only made for a few years and may not be the easiest to find parts for because of its limited production. This link has a little more info.
