How much in length does the water have to be in my tank? Will guppies survive if I only fill the water half way to the top? (I have a terrarium), I've used it to fill 1/3 water before but I was wondering if it would be okay to only fill 1/2 the tank with water for guppies?

If there is insufficient oxygen in the water, you will notice the guppies gasping at the surface. If this happens, you will need to get an air pump. Why not consider a male betta, or a couple of female bettas which can breath some air.

the rule usually is one gallon of water per fish.
also you must have your tank running for a few days without any fish in it to prime it.alot of pet stores wont sell you fish unless your tank has been primed.
now...a terrarium is not specifically made for fish-it's possible it may not be able to handle the pressure...unless you used a fish tank for your terrarium.

I'm not quite sure I understand why you do not want it completely full. I understand what a Terrarium is, but is there some sort of crack at the top or something?

Try give them as much water you can, and a pum air, it will help, make them healthy, then each 15 days, try change some half water lenght.

nice guppies you will have.

Yes, you can fill it half-way. But remember, one inch of fish per gallon! And you still have to dechlorinate and everything and make sure it's filtered. But I do it with my newt tank! =)
