I think people can learn to sing without talent.
I mean some of the greatest rock, pop and folk artists of all time created great music, but really can't sing.
Neil Young, Bob Dylan (who can in his unique way though), John Lennon, and others.
Hell Madonna can't sing too well. She gets the most out of her abilities (our used to) and then some.
Most of the greatest rock artists of all time would have been bounced off of American Idol right away.
If you can create music, a great voice means less. If you want to be a professional "singer", no you have to have talent.

Of course people can learn to sing pro...and most of those that seek that are nearly there already, and getting the brush up...Others that are totally 'amateur' need to focus on classes for their singing status...(much like myself...he,he,he...i really suck) Think of it as a 'sport'....you can learn this sport if you have the 'will, drive, determination,...and the help of others'....You set yourself up with the right people...who are talented and educated... and able to do their job in teaching you what you want to know/and do....take their info...combine it with your own, and see what develops....Best of luck to you! (never forget 'your' initial dreams)

You could give someone with a frog voice, like me, lessons all day long and I would still sound like a frog - I would just sing on key! You have to have some talent, no matter how raw.

Well there are professional singers who don't have great voices. Not everyone has a lot of talent.
