Cold reading is doing a scene (with the script) that you've had no or only a short time to prepare. It's done in auditions.

Bridging. The only time I've heard this term used is in regards to learning lines. You build a "bridge" - meaning, one line causes a reaction which leads to the next line, which makes something else happen, which leads to the next line. Often when you keep forgetting a line, it's because you haven't 'built the bridge' in your mind as to *why* you say the next thing.

Cold reading is just picking up a script you never read before and you have to read it....I never heard about bridging.
