4 problems with wresting nowadays.

1) Lack of real competition. Before there was an AWA or NWA or WCW to go up against WWE. Now all you have is a 2nd rate TNA which is just now after a couple years getting toward doing shows other than in that dump in Universal Studios Florida.

2) Over-exposure and dilution of talent. Taking and company and turning it into thre "brands" each with their own 1 to 2 hour show to create false competition only made things worse. Now you got former bookers, trainers, and road agents like Finlay and Tommy Dreamer actually having to wrestle. You get wrestlers way past their prime like Flair or Hoagn having to pull some duty to get anyone over.

3) The "Goldberg" factor. Now mind you I am not talking about him not being on a roster, but what his "stardom" did to promoters like Vince. It made him look for the instant star and not actually try to build up a star from the ground up. If you remember, Goldberg went from a pure rookie to legend over the span of a few months. Between him and the NWO, that kept WCW on top and Vince became obsessed with having a guy like that. He got his wish with a guy like Angle, and you now see the toll that made on Angle, and he is doing it again to Batista. Typically it takes a few years for a guy to go from a young wrestler to maybe getting some air time as a tag-team wrestler, then going up to mid-card, then preaking thru like a HHH, HBK, Rock, Bret Hart, or Stone Cold. Now it takes only a matter of months and the guy goes from being a rookie to a has-been in a year or 2.

4) The UFC factor. Wrestling is alos actually ignoring it's biggest competition, the UFC and the MMA craze, which may or may not go away. It's appeal come from the realism of it. Actual injuries, actual fighting, actual life stories, which are all the things WWE is not. Except for the shows like Lost or other dealing in the Sci-Fi realm, most of your long lasting hits are reality based shows, because that is what is selling nowadays. Idol, Deal or No Deal, UFC, Dateline NBC: To catch a Predator, Survivor, and fear Factor all deal with the excitement of reality.

With those four factors, how can't WWE be set up to fail?

a million. AJ varieties is one hundred circumstances better than Batista. 2. No, WWE is continually extra or a lot less an same besides, except even as it develop into the frame of mind era. 3. LMAO, no! 4. Samoa Joe is an staggering wrestler, with respectable mic skills and air of secrecy. 5. Joe wins. 6. Kaz, of direction. 7. Definately not. 8. i do not watch TNA, so i will't say it sucks. I said a tournament once. sturdy, in spite of the undeniable fact that the storyline occurring develop into undesirable. i will attempt to get into TNA, yet i love WWE way extra. WQ: Chris Jericho transforming into international Champion.

The thing I hate the most is not being able to reverse match outcomes or having matches continue due to no more instant replay. The old WWF was so much into making the "make believe" look "real" and now Vince Jr. forgot what really made this form of entertainment something to rival prime time TV.

Now, the gimmicks suck really bad and story lines are lame. I prefer RAW over Smackdown, because Smackdown's characters act like immature kids and not grown ups. Also, the "sex" does not sell or capture my attention.

Me, too. Wrestling was wrestling when these guys were all wrestling: Hulk Hogan, Macho Man Randy Savage,(Elizabeth) Rick Rude, The Undertaker, Hacksaw Jim Duggan,Sting, Rowdy Roddy Piper...oh, I forget the rest, but they were the best!!! That was back when it was about wrestling and not drugs, sex and money.

because it has been the same show for the past decade with no real new story threads. just repackaged and re-hashed story lines. plus it is fake, and a soap opera for dudes. i liked it back in the day but it has become almost like jerry springer meets steroids meets hollywood
