I mean everything for a family of 3. Campground fees, food, gas, etc. Can it be done at this price? We don't even have an RV yet, but are thinking of selling everything, buying an RV and seeing the country for a year. We are thinking of doing it on just my husband's retirement income.

Thanks!

You could , you could! You are going to have a great time. Don't skimp on the RV. Make sure it is fully self contained ( generator). Take your time on the purchase of an RV. A model with a rear bed is the best.

Definitely.
I drove an RV from England to Thailand, through Europe and Arabia. We spent on average about $30 per day.
No site fees, we just parked somewhere off road. Just fuel and food. far less that $1500.
However in America, it seems that people have a need to park on a camp site, for some unknown reason, so it might be more expensive.

If you are travelling, and just need to stop overnight, WalMarts across Canada and the U.S will welcome you to park on their lots overnight.....free of charge. Their assumption is, that when you wake up in the morning, you will walk to the store, and buy your supplies there. This is a big money saver.
