Bulk Booking

Passengers requiring reservation in excess of the above limit, may contact the controlling officers/supervisors of the concerned reservation office for permission to make bulk booking of berths in trains. Here is step by step guide to help in bulk booking of berths.

Step1 : Please submit a letter to authorised official giving details such as train number, date of journey, number of berths etc.

Step2 : Get the permission of the authorised Officials.

Step3 : Contact the bulk booking counter for purchase of tickets.

However, booking of bulk accommodation is subject to overall limits on trains as per extant rules.

1. Entitlement for Children

Children under five years of age can travel free. Children five years of age and below 12 will be charged half the fare for the journey, but full reservation charges will be levied.

2. Reservation at Intermediate Stations

Certain intermediate stations have quotas earmarked for some trains. Details of these are displayed at the stations concerned. These are also published on page 161-163. Application for reservation against these quotas, must be made at the concerned station not less than 72 hours before the scheduled departure of the train at the originating station. At stations where onward quotas are available for booking the connecting onward journey, reservations will close 72 hours in advance.
