Why in the world, when I have just chosen to empty the trash or delete spam messages, would yahoo think I'd want to view the now empty folder along with an ever-so-helpful message that it's empty? Why not configure it so that I can empty these bins of useless zeroes and ones (mostly zeroes) and stay in the Inbox or whatever folder I happen to be in at the moment?

This pertains to yahoo mail beta, not standard yahoo mail. So far, I have been pleased with it overall but the quirks bother me nonetheless.

scenario: I just emptied the trash. It's gone. If I just emptied the trash, why would I want to view the now-empty folder?

With Yahoo Mail options, General Preferences, I have chosen to view 25 messages at a time.

With the bulk folder, I can quickly scan down the list of senders. If nothing of value landed there in error, I click "check all," then click "delete." Two mouse clicks and they are gone. No biggee.

If a bunch land in the inbox, I click the box preceding the sender, then click SPAM. That address is now blocked unless and until you unblock it.

As for deleting the trash, have you ever deleted a message in error? I have. This gives us one last chance to recover if necessary.

Which Mail Server are you using.. You should select all, and then delete them
