I am about as liberal as they get and I have problems with the tactics of this organization. There are outrageous things done to animals but that doesn't make it right to do outrageous things in retaliation. They lost me when they started throwing paint on fur coats. I don't like the way animals are raised for this purpose but I don't think it's right to destroy someone's property and there are some faux coats that have been destroyed because they were mistaken for real fur. There has got to be a good compromise without the scare tactics and the militant stance. Peace.

I would consider them more of a cult than a terrorist organization. Of course they may be harboring some terrorists within the cult, but I do agree that some of the extremist tactics they endorse are unethnical to the treatment of people. They are the Taliban (not the Al Qaida) of animal rights if you were to make a 1:1 comparison, but for different ideologies.

A hypothetical situation:
Two folks (One a PETA chap, the other an average, meat-eating soul) stranded on some God-forsaken region of the world with NOT A DROP OF FOOD to be had and no hope of getting any or rescue. Finally, when hunger becomes unbearable, who's the first one to yell, "Yum-Yum, eat-m-up!!".....??

A terrorist organization is one that tries to violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, especially for political purposes. So in short, no, they simply try to show the effect and harm that comes from what people are doing. But little do they know that what one resists, persists.
