I understand that it can be reduced by going to control panel. But I don't know about the exact heading under which we can fix this problem.

Thanks for your answer. I have already tried it. It does not solve the problem. I think we have to change some settings.

Actually there could be two reasons behind it.
One is that your screen resolution suddenly got decreased, second is that you chose to display bigger icons.

I will tell you how to check the setting for the second case.
Right Click on the desktop
Select properties
Click on Appearance Tab
Click on Effects
See if the box before "Use large icons" is checked.
Uncheck it if it is checked
Press OK .

This should take care of the large icons problem.
If it doesn't then, stay on the display properties window.
click on "Settings" Tab
You will see screen resolution settings.
Increase the resolution and color quality,
press Apply
press OK

One of the two steps above should solve your large icons problem.

Assuming you're using WindowsXP, right click your mouse or touchpad on the desktop. Go to Properties.

Bottom left you will see Screen Resolution, set this to 1024 by 768 by dragging the arrow to the right on the scrollbar. Click ok.

Let me know if this resolves your problem. If not, there are a few other tricks you can use to reduce icon size.

Oops. Originally answered for text size in browser. Anyway, for icons on the text top, right click on your desktop, select Properties, then select the tab that says Appearance and pick the Text Size.

Your resolution was probably lowered. Go to My Computer, Control Panel, and Display. If you click on the Settings tab, you can adjust your screen resolution.

If the control panel won't let you change the size, then your video card might be bad or just uninstalled. Click on my computer, then go to device manager, and see if your video driver is there.
