No, you wouldn't have a cervix any longer. The cervix is attached to the uterus & is the opening to the uterus. If you've had a hysterectomy, you usually don't need an annual Pap test, which is a screening test for cervical cancer. But you still need regular pelvic exams. Doctors also recommend continued Pap tests for women who have had cervical, vaginal or vulvar cancer before a hysterectomy.

It really depends on the type of hysterectomy you had. Some will leave the cervix and some wont depending on what the reason was for the hysterectomy.. I had a full hysterectomy where they took everything and now I wish they would have left the cervix and ovaries but due to my problem this was not an option at all. You really need to ask the doctor who did your hysterectomy and see what they did or didn't take from you.. As far as paps my gyn said I only need one every 2 yrs but have to have a pelvic every year.. Hope this helps..

no all you have is your ovaries and yes it is best to have a pap smear once a year to check for ovarian cancer and you are more prown to infection now like yeast and pid. you are less prown to some std but always use protection because you can still get aids and other diseases. but you will not have another period and eventually you may start early menapause, so make sure you get a yearly pap smear unless your doctor tells you other wise.

You would have to ask your gynecologist. Mine removed everything except my ovaries and fallopian tubes...I`ve never felt so good and sex is a lot better now. He told me that he removed it since it has no function after having the uterus removed. Yes you still have to have a pap every year.

NO, you no longer have a cervix if your uterus is removed!
That's the opening to the uterus, where menses is released and sperm enters, and babies are born from....
