Individual growth rates vary on water quality and feed. I usually wait three weeks (when I can tell the sex of the fry), I separate them male form female and put them in the respective tanks.

There's a good chance they could be left along immediately after birth (a few feeder guppies in my Muskie tank just gave birth to some the other day, and they have not been fooled with).
For safety sake - put Mom in a tank by herself until she has her litter, and then just put her back in the main tank. Let the babies get use to their existence for a couple of days, and then when you can see the blacks of their eyes - put them in with everybody.

hi i think of i ought to be of a few provider to you as i worked in a fish keep or some years =] as long as you supply the toddler fish with incredibly furry plant life which incorporate 'cobumba' (green and intensely furry) the babys will fortuitously use this as risk-free haven so platys is genuinely not waiting to attack them incredibly and in the event that they do breed the female will understand to furnish start to them in or around shield so as that they have got a raffle so purely make certain you have 2/3 solid sized plant life and a few embellishes or bogwood they are able to apply to cover around al of those issues will help the babies get to person age solid success i'm hoping i grow to be of sufficient help x x Alsoooo... to bypass alongside with the entire 'breeding internet' theory I easily have stored fish for 10 years and characteristic in no way used a breeding internet via fact it motives unreaonable rigidity on the female, having sufficient conceal works purely to boot..

as long as the fish are to big to fit into the other fishes mouth ,the baby guppies willstart to come out of hiding on there own. another option is to get a tank divider until you are sure they are big enough.

Usually just hatching each baby fish goes to the bottom and then if is healthy it will swim to any hide (sand, rock,or plant) and if you see any mother eating babys, dont get Mad.. Run to the Walmart pets room, and ask for a hatchig box for eggs fish (it has a type "V" tramp) where just any eggs goes down and any
big one still up.
good look next time...

It isn't age...it is size. Fish will eat anything that fits in their mouths. When you introduce the babies back into your tank, make sure you have stuff for them to hide in.
