If your significant other is giving you time limits on talking with your friends, it sounds like he or she is too controlling! You need to make him/her stop that kind of attitude before it gets worse. Controlling people tend to be abusive. This is probably why your friends are upset. Just put yourself on the outside of your relationship, looking in as if you were seeing a good friend's relationship. Would you want that person to be with such a control freak?

Your relationship would probably not last, if your significant other tries to control your behaviour and activities.
Long term relationships are based on mutual understanding and acceptance of each other's ideas and values, even if they are different. So, if one party is trying to dominate the other, it will only work if the other's need is to be dominated! Get the picture?
