Why not? Malaysian Government welcome foreign nationals (except Israel, Yugoslavia, Serbia and Montenegro ) to stay in Malaysia on a long term Social Visit Pass under the "MALAYSIA - MY SECOND HOME PROGRAMME" and duration of stay is for a period of five(5) years with a Multiple Entry Visa.

However, it DOES NOT entitle a permanent resident status.

Good move to cut down on your lodging expense. But perhaps you would like to tabulate with your traveling expenses and see if it is worth it. Not discouraging you tho', for if given a choice,I'd do it too.

Have fun with the Causeway.

Yes you can and there are many real estate agents who would gladly help you out in either countries. Perhaps you could try those big firms where they have lawyers available.

Yes, you can. But you shall have to brave the daily jams at the causeway.
