I have a 3 week old. We have a musical chair that we put my baby in and she sleeps. Its not a flat bad, but it does incline. Its a leap frog one. Is it ok for baby to sleep in it during the day (not all day but parts of it).? Has anyone had any problems with that? I feel sometimes that she is not comfortable there. It is a better recline though than an infant car seat. Thanks.

It is fine. My son had a play chair that vibrated and he feel asleep in that thing enough times. That was like his nap chair which would give me just enough time to do some chores around the house. I know they look uncomfortable but believe me if they are they will wake up and let you know.

A good friend of mine let her son sleep in his swing for months. He loved it and she was able to get a lot more done during the day. Her only problem with it later was that she had a major battle when it came time to sleep in his crib. She had to give up the swing completely in order to get him to sleep at night. My son had reflux and slept in his car seat/baby carrier for three months to keep the stomach acids down. Our biggest problem was that even with neck supports in the seat, his head could still tilt downwards and he was later diagnosed with torticollis (the muscles on one side of his neck were too weak to hold his head straight, so it tilted to one side). He's nearly 2 1/2 years old now, and he's had to go through physical therapy and stretching exercises, and he's just recently been cured of the problem. It was a major struggle for a long time. So just be careful and watch for neck problems.

If she's asleep, she's comfortable. My mom used to say, never wake a sleeping baby.
I wouldn't do it all night either, but during the day it's ok. Unless it gets to the point that it is the only way the baby will go to sleep and then you will have a problem.

Don't leave her in it for more than an hr. It is bad for her back and it may interfere with her sleeping in her crib. She may cry if you put her to sleep in her crib and want the chair which is not good for her.

My son slept in his swing for months. The doctor told me to let him sleep there (he had acid reflux) if he wanted to. The most important thing was for me to get my sleep so I could care for my children.

Those infant swings are like babysitters! Too bad they don't make them for teenagers!

That is fine. She probably feels more secure in there. If she is sleeping she is comfortable.
