Of course. A bird in the hand means, literally, you have a bird, to do with as you please, and, considering the age of this old saying, probably to eat it. This is worth more than two birds in a bush - if they're still in the bush, then they're not yours.

I have a Bird in my hand (seriously, an Amazon parrot ) and i'll be dammed if i'm climbing through the bushes looking for 2 birds, So I'd have to say yes.

Not really.. It's a false belief that forces people to believe that what you already have is always better than someone strange...Strangers are always strange as long as you accept them as strangers without attempting to get close to them.. You'll never know that "the one" is still out there for you... So, a bird from the bush might be way better than the one you already hold in your hand...
