I got bullied by this boy named Roderick........Roderick Shelton in 1st grade. He kicked my *** one day and I went home and told my pops what happen. My pops told to fight him the next day , but I was afraid because Roderick was bigger than me. My pops told me (lol) to pick up some sand and throw it in his face and then go to town on him. So the next day at recess I pick up some sand and walk up to him and nail him in the face with the sand. He was blinded so I started punching the crap outta him. Like 10 seconds later 1 guy came over to help and the another and another. When it was all over their was myself and 4 other boys whoopin' Rodericks ***!!

This is a tough call, because every situation is just different enough for this to defy categorization.
Yes, I was bullied and no, I didn't win right away. Elementary school was hell! But when I entered middle school, I made new friends and found a place in the social order that felt right for me.
For me, physical violence never paid off. I was the one who kept getting sent to the principal's office, even though the other kids started the altercations.
But I know that one size doesn't fit all. Sometimes, you have to confront violence with violence. I'm not saying to use a gun or stab someone; I'm just saying that sometimes you gotta go eyeball to eyeball and punch the bully's lights out.
I remember a story my friend told me not too long ago. He was legally blind without glasses and hard of hearing even as a kid. He was just a friendly guy who wanted to get along with people. But you can imagine what he had to endure instead. It was a classic case of the strong overpowering the weak.
One day, he had had enough. He reared back and punched a guy who was picking on him and landed him flat on his butt. Well, of course, all the other tough guys had to take a turn with him, and lo and behold, he knocked all the other guys down, too. No one was more surprised than he! Ultimately, all the tough guys decided they wanted to be his friend since they didn't want to get punched again.
Usually, bullies when confronted, will retreat. They are cowards at heart.

I taught at a school once when our principal retired. Me and 1 other teacher applied for the job. I had the backing of the staff and the parents, but she had the advanced degree. She got the job which was fine with me, I just interviewed because the PTA and my co-workers wanted me too. This woman who got the job proceeded to absolutely bully me for the next 3 years. Humiliating me in staff meetings, picking apart my lesson plans, if I was even one day late on reports she would bring it up at PTA meetings. Everybody knew she was just trying to prove she was better than me. It was a HORRIBLE 3 years. In the end, the PTA had had enough of her, and staged a letter-writing campaign to the board office to get rid of her(NOT because of the was I was being treated, but because of the way she handled the school), and the month before she got fired I received "Teacher Of The Year" YESSSS !!! Even adults can get bullied, you just have to be strong, ignore the bully and know that everyone else will see the bully for what he/she is.

Fortunately I have never been terribly bullied. But if your asking this question because you are being bullied than what you need to do is take a stand & tell someone & by someone I dont mean people on yahoo answers. I mean someone like your teacher or principle if this is happening at school. Or if your not in school than you need to tell the police if its very sirious. I hope this advice is helping. God Bless You.

Yes I have. The school refused to do anything about it. I put the girl in the hospital for over a week. Then I filed a police report that afternoon, and threatened to sue the school for ignoring the problem and letting it get that far. I won. I never had another problem after that, either with another student bullying me OR with the school not paying attention to my complaints.

Need of two points I too would say take a stand. No need to bully anyone but yes also as to teriffying someone too I guess by bullying? But in the end please do stop and either be decent and appolize & perhaps fill them in as to why then who knows what will happen later. I say thank you

I was always the stupidest girl in my kintergarden and throughout my elementry school. But as time goes by, I became stronger and meaner, and eventually learned to protect myself from harm. Because I turned those fears into anger and rage, and no body was brave enough to come close to me. Eventually they can only be my friend, or if they're ever looking for trouble, they'll realize they've picked the wrong person.

Like the others I snapped one day and was able to pound the bully into submission. I guess we traded places.
One of my buddies (smarter than me) managed to keep the bullies of him with a simple warning. If they messed with him he said " you start this and it will never be over." "You whip me today you'll have to fight me tomorrow, and the day after , and the day after that, and every other day till I find a way to beat you, and I'm going to do whatever it takes to make that happen."
He was a little guy but the big guys didn't mess with him. Because he wasn't bluffing he meant it and they knew it.

Me? I just threw a table at him. It was one of times, you're so angry that you feel like you can do anything. After that he was flat on his back and...I jumped on him :-p
I almost got into trouble but then the other kids told the teache how I was regularly troubled by this kid, so they didnt do anything to me.

Yes. I finally took a stand, got mad, and hit them. Which fear is worse;;;;;fear of immediate pain or fear of being a punk all your life? You just gotta stand up to them no matter what you think will happen.
