You can use various IM software that actually give you access to 3 or more IM services, including Yahoo Messenger. My favorite IM is Mundu:

I prefer version 2.5 to version 3, but you can give both a try before you buy.

I don't know but you can try www.meebo.com.
It's a web based chat client that supports MSN, Yahoo and AIM without needing to download anything. The chat is completely web based so if you can get to it on your browser on the Treo it might work.

Well IM+ is trialware, but I used Agile Messenger to do the same thing and it is freeware.

Both are hybrids that is programmed to interface with other IMsgr in addition to Yahoo.
