what would make my computer run slow, and the word's look small, can't hardly see them!

Slow computer could be not enough memory and or too many programs are running at one time. If words look small then your gona have to go in the display setting and fool with the resolutions and text sizes. If its small words in internet explorer go to the View Tab - Text Size - then choose one that you can read.
Slow computer also can be a spyware or virus problem also. Free programs to google for.
AVG Free Edition for antivirus
Adaware SE for spyware removal

You may try to adjust your computer resolution to a smaller one go to control panel- display- then reduce your resolution.
