get some borax, the kind you use in the laundry, sprinkle it where you see them, they have an exoskeleton, and are constantly cleaning themselves, they lick the stuff off of their legs and DIE!
Careful if you have pets or toddlers,,,good luck

There is a product available at most grocery stores and WM's called "Bengal Roach Spray." That stuff kilsl them dead! Spray in the evening, all over, baseboards, inside cabinets, in walls (unscrew switch plates and get behind the electrical box), everywhere! Then go ahead and go to sleep. When you wake up in the morning, you will see how many dead roaches you've got and freak! But they'll be DEAD!
If you don't feel like doing that, call a Professional pest control. Let them spray inside and out. Once they are under control, a perimiter spray only shoudl keep them at bay.
For every roach you see , there are 20 you don't see. Yikes!

As you say: ther is no escaping them! And it is true, you reaaly could not eliminate them or preventing them from entering your house. It is because they are everywhere, and survive at even at harsh environments (even clean environments).
You could prevent contamination of there dirt by sealing your food and keeping your house tidy. If you happen to see one - kill it with pesticide. If you can, find a spot where they lay eggs (like dark, damp places). But, since you say your house is clean, maybe the roach is just a newly-arrive visitor. However, it may start to lay eggs if you are not careful...

We have them bad here too. They come in from outside. If I go outside at night I can see them crawling all over the ground.
We set off bug bombs the other day and it killed all of them that were hiding in the house. I haven't seen any since. You could give that a try.
A few years ago we hired a professional exterminator and that killed them all and we didn't have any for LONG time after that so you could consider that too.
