My ex wife, because of an argument, and because I am bi-polar, decided to have me committed to a hospital .. during the time in the hospital, she put a restraining order on me, sold off all of my property in the home and moved away. I would say the children are well taken care of for the next 20 years with all of the posessions I had. What do you think?

ok! here's to ya from an open-minded female! #1 ur possessions do NOT nourish, feed, nor clothe the children at present, so that's NOT an issue relative to child support. #2 i am, also, bi-polar and totally understand how things get twisted very easily. that being said, i am a parent of 2 beautiful lil girls and she CANNOT use that against u n a court of law, unless u r a harm to the children. {been there lol} #3 i'm NOT one of the greedy money hungry women that are always devious. i am a single parent of 2 and NEVER ask for help...i just do it {someway, somehow}!!! but, honestly, as far as money goes { which is what ur referring to as child support} u can NEVER have enuff to support ur children. so, do the right thing and don't fight. the children are the one's that suffer in the end. they pay way more attn than u could imagine. so, they know most of the time what goes on btween their parents especially if it's negative. believe me. and, that scars them for life. so, just bite the bullet if ya don't want ur life to b a constant battle n court or w/the system and b the bigger parent and do what's best "FOR" the kids!

children cannot survive on material things ,they need food clothing and a daddy>>> Also think there might be a bit more to this than u are letting us know >>>Anyhow whatever u and her did or didn't do that's your issues to deal with as adults>>> your responsibility to act like a parent around the children!!!!! just remember that old saying here today <> gone tomorrow, mom and dad should act civil for the kids and yes you need too be getting on the support a.s.a.p. don't let the kids suffer because of things that were totally out of there Little hands

how do you know the ex wife is using that money for the children. You should go to court and make an assesment of all the possesions that you owed and list the value of each that you can remember or an estimated value and ask for the judge to make your wife pay you back and then set up a child support aggrement to make sure the kids are getting money for what they need you cant assume that your wife is using the money from your possessions for that purpose cuz i highly doubt she is.

I'd like to hear HER side of the story before offering an opinion. Many things are not being addressed here such as: What were the arguements about? Why the restraining order? How long has this been going on?

Good luck to you.

You and/or you wife do not make this decision. Get a lawyer, go to court and let the court tell you exactly what you need to provide. In the end, this is the way it is handled.

Yes, YOU need to give her financial support so she can take care of the children; your children should not have to be deprived of care just because you and your ex-wife are having difficulty.
