I am 19 weeks pregnant....
For about the past two weeks, I have been experiencing very stiff and painful legs and feet. My legs are so stiff at times, it is very hard to even walk, and my feet kill me to stand up on them even for short periods of time. The sniffness and pain is around the calves and back of knees, and the upper front part of my legs. My legs feel like they are bruised. It makes my job very hard for me because I am now an inclusion special ed teacher, and I have to walk from class to class, and our campus is majorly spread out. I have to use a heating pad at night sometimes, and I can tell you tylenol doesn't help a bit. Does any of this sound normal?? Anybody else that's pregnant or has been pregnant ever have this problem?? My next dr. appt is in two weeks. Should I wait or call my doctor??

I would definately calling your doctor if it's bothering you that bad! You might be retaining water....drink a lot of fluids, stay away from salty foods, put your feet up above your heart, ice for 20 minutes and then heat for 20 minutes and do that for a lil bit...that should help out tremendously!

During pregnancy your horomones do so many crazy things to your body. It can cause many things including cramps in your leg. I wouldnt be alarmed unless you are experiencing numbness which could be serious. When I was pregnant I had to wear a wrist brace because the horomones were causing the joints in my wrist to expand. At any rate I would tell your doctor about this at your next visit and in the meantime if the pain gets unbearable call your doctor to see what other pain medication you could take or something you could do to relieve the pain. good luck! I know how much pregnancy can take its toll on your body.

I know what you mean I just lay in bed or use a heating pad and lay around for a while, make sure you're drinking enough water throughout the day. I'm 35 weeks and just got all the things you listed above and sometimes get it in my vagina and it hurts like hell!! Sometimes I can't get out of bed due to all the pain, I hope labors not this bad lol!!good luck :O)

I would wait it out for awhile but yeah this can be normal too. When it comes to pregnancy its hard to say how yours will go but perhaps you are doing too much walking. Also when you are expecting, it is a test upon your strength, many times when i was in deep pain, I meditated and released my pain through song and poetry. I don't believe in tylenol or pain killers because the pain always comes back in time. Also any doses of acetaminophen thin the blood.

Well, aches and pains go with pregnancy. The baby could be sitting on a nerve. But, play it safe. Call the doctor's office and ask your question. If the nurse thinks you should be seen earlier, they'll fit you in.

Yes, you should call the doctor. Leg and feet pains are normal but possibly not to this extent.

See the doctor! This could be nerve pain, cellulitis or thrombi (blood clots) and all can become very serious if neglected.
