What does the words "family structure" mean?

I feel stupid for asking this question but i really need to no wat the word means. I have lookd n the dicitionary and online but i can't find it. Thanks for helping

If my memory serves me right it means or relates to the make up of a family. For example, some families have grand parents ( this can be cultural), then mother and father and children. You may have to research social studies or sociology test books or some other family studies books. This is just a start.. all the best
