Dual boot with windows, The grub installer when the system boots does not pause for long enough for me, I want to make it take longer does anyone know how?

You need to edit the GRUB config file. Mine is in /boot/grub, yours may be somewhere different. Edit the timeout line, e.g. timeout 10

In the file /boot/grub/menu.lst, add or modify a line that says
timeout 10
where the 10 is the number of seconds it will display the menu before booting the default.
