I don't agree with the statement that Bush is dumb... I mean he has a whole office that runs with him, he doesn't make all the decisions himself, and his party for the most part backs him up... So he represents at least a part of the American people
On a personal note, I believe he's just culturally challenged or maybe geography challenged.... So what he didn't know that Russia was a big country?

Dahlia O - as much as most of us wish otherwise G.W. Bush is not bright enough to be a competent leader of a global super power and is certainly not intelligent enough to be making decisions as an executive President.

Fortunately (and unfortunately) Bush Junior is more of a figurehead than an executive Head of State - Behind him is an Administration comprised of far more intelligent and able people and behind them are the real decision makers.

The real decision makers in the US are the 'King Makers' - they are the people who hold the purse strings. Most likely you will find these folk among the owners of the Federal Reserve (Which most people are very surprised (and alarmed) to find out is privately owned and is neither Federal nor a Reserve)

Unfortunately our Democracy is far less than it should be and since the introduction of the badly miss-named 'Patriot Act' it has become even less Democratic than it was. We have now lost some of the important protections we once had under the Constitution.

Hopefully more people will wake up to the unfortunate changes that are quietly taking place under our noses.

I have a great story about Bush.
I live in a small city. 30,000 people. Bush came here to speak,
I am part of a famly contracting and construction company and we were working on a house that day the man came.
I had no plans on going and was just wanting to figure out a way to go home because much of the city was closed.
When the day ended for us I was driving home and was caught by a policeman to stop because Bush would be driving this way.
So I parked my Jimmy and started to walk. I was not far from my home. The policeman told me I could not park there even though I lived seconds away. I told him I just want to go home and take a nap because I have a hell of cold and I could give a damn about GFBUSH.
So I got into my car and the policeman smiled and let me not only pass, but he let me drive my car and as I was driving my Jimmy, I was cut off by 3 Limos and to my happiness or not, their was bush waving at people. I was stuck in the middle of the road not knowing what to do. Bush was in clear site, so I did indeed give him the middle finger and he looked at me like he couldnt understand what the middle finger meant. He is an idiot, you should have seen how confused he was when I was in the middle of the road flipping him off!
to make a nice story better, as he was speaking, I took a nice nap and slept well knowing that murder saw me flipping him off!!

Well, everybody thinks he's dumb, and yet, the same ones believe that he was smart enough to plan 9/11, Flight 93, and the Pentagon. In less than 9 months.
And then prepare all the videos.
I'm confused. He appears to be smarter than Bill Gates. I don't think Bill could have done it that soon.
I can't even imagine that Clinton could have pulled that off in less than 9 months, Ya, know, training the terrorists to fly, organizing all the people involved.

Bush must be a genius. Or a Genii.

Hmm...he has an MBA, so he can't be "stupid" (although some people may say 'Daddy bought it').He is woefully inarticulate and ignorant of other cultures, for sure. I went to a school that specialized in Math, Computer Science, Engineering, and Architecture- bright students, but many of them failed the English Language proficiency exam. I have an English degree and am a good communicator, but if you dropped me in an engineering class I'd have a hell of a time. It's all relative. However, what this illustrates is the importance of having a good command of the language and being well-spoken. It's not elitist, it is necessary.

Here is a paraphrase of comments in two of Bush's speeches that people found to be dumb: 1) that there are too many people in the world and 2) that the enemies are our friends.

I laughed when I read that until..wait a minute! Bush believes the enemies are his friends because they'll help him eliminate all the excess of people in the world!

So he's not dumb! Just slips of the tongue on things he and his cronies talk about that US Citizens weren't supposed to know-- world dominion for certain Republicans means getting rid of lots of people!

There are many other comments like that-- sounds funny to normal people but scary if you realize the message Get the book on his speeches and read between the lines! Pretty scary stuff! Then vote Republicans out before they get you too.

I read the following article and have totally changed what I've heard about Bush. He keeps saying things like a Dictatorship would be a lot easier (hello, of course it would but this is America and we have a constitution!)

Bush on the Constitution: "Just a goddamned piece of paper"
By DOUG THOMPSON
Dec 9, 2005, 06:39

Last month, Republican Congressional leaders filed into the Oval Office to meet with President George W. Bush and talk about renewing the controversial USA Patriot Act.

Several provisions of the act, passed in the shell shocked period immediately following the 9/11 terrorist attacks, caused enough anger that liberal groups like the American Civil Liberties Union had joined forces with prominent conservatives like Phyllis Schlafly and Bob Barr to oppose renewal.

GOP leaders told Bush that his hardcore push to renew the more onerous provisions of the act could further alienate conservatives still mad at the President from his botched attempt to nominate White House Counsel Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court.

"I don't give a goddamn," Bush retorted. "I'm the President and the Commander-in-Chief. Do it my way."

"Mr. President," one aide in the meeting said. "There is a valid case that the provisions in this law undermine the Constitution."

"Stop throwing the Constitution in my face," Bush screamed back. "It's just a goddamned piece of paper!"

I've heard from two White House sources who claim they heard from others present in the meeting that the President of the United States called the Constitution "a goddamned piece of paper."

**It's truly a good thing that a president can't serve more than 2 terms!!

He is far from dumb. He might not explain things well...but that's it.

I really doubt he hates black people. If he did, why would Condoleeza Rice be in such a close postition to him?

My hubby and I have been stereotyped as being prejudice just because we came from Texas.

How many times did the naacp ask him speak? Yes, they have done some really great things - but then again some of the lawsuits they file are inane and pointless.

I believe he is really dumb, he isn't culturally challenged, he fits right in with all the money hungry, power hungry big corporations, and he fits in well. He is not culturally challenged! That's the problem!
