Ants have suddenly appeared inside my house. They're just marching back and forth near my front door. I'm worried that they'll spread. What can I do/use to keep them away that won't harm my indoor cats? (My cats like to chew on things, particularly plastic). And does anyone know why they're coming inside in the first place? There's no food or anything in that area. I've seen them swarm on a dead cricket (I've also been hit by those), but even after I got rid of it, they kept on coming.

Go buy some ant repellant sprays and spray outside all around the base of your house. Also the cooking spice Sage works, it has to be raw though, buy a bag or bottle of it make sure its plain sage and put it around the door. I heard that repels ants big time, for some reason those pesks hate it and instantly go in the opposite direction of it. But ant repellant should work just fine, the one I know that works really really well. I forget the name but it looks almost like a gas container sorta, and it is green and has a hose and nozzle, the type you see on like spray bottles and the nozzle is yellow. Sorry I just don't remember the name, but it works wonders and you spray only once or twice a month around the house outside and no more ants. Hopefully where ever you live your stores carry that spray.

For now, use some spray ant killer on the spots they've crawled. Go outside (by front door) and find where you think they're coming in and saturate that atea, too., both sides. A spray like Raid or Black Flag should not harm your cat. Keep him away until it's dry.

THEN, apple TallStar or other granular ant killer to your yard. Ants usually run for cover in periods of lots of rain or if they get hungry and you have food (or a pantry) near by.

Get some of those poison baits where the ants will eat the bait and take the poison back to the nest. The baits can usually be placed in spaces (behind cabinets, or even outside near the front door) where the cats can't get at them. Good luck!

first difficulty you want to do is sparkling, sparkling, sparkling your living section. the position the ants bypass, there is both grease or sugar of a few style. Take it faraway from them! save a tidy abode and also you'll discover the priority a lot extra achievable. second difficulty to save in concepts: insects hate vinegar. Spray it onto any/all affected surfaces once you sparkling. Even for a pair days after it dries up, insects will keep away from the area., yet they don't die except you drown them in it. in case you want to kill them, use Windex or any glass purifier things you've mendacity round. disguise your cat's nutrition and water bowls with a e book in case you'll kill the ants with this technique. also: cats don't like the scent of vinegar, both. It received't harm them like the Windex can do if used improperly. yet another solution to decrease the ant difficulty is to purchase considered one of those vast lollypop sucker issues, and placed it lower than your neighbor's porch or something. That'll divert almost all of them for a lengthy time period, in spite of the undeniable fact that it does not something to sluggish the colony's progression. It easily stimulates a advance contained in the fashion of ants, i'm really positive. yet if you discover your self at wit's end, this is a sturdy determination. a lot of success!

This Works!!!<<< put pepper down where you are seeing ants, sprinkle it on countertops, lay it in a line in front of windows and doors. Anywhere you need to. The pepper won't kill them but they really HATE to cross it so they won't. In a day or so you won't see anymore ants and kitty won't be hurt by it. It's the cheapest repellent out there and it does work.
