Why has our whole society degraded themselves to obsessing over poorly drawn characters dancing around in skimpy, homosexual clothing with poor plot lines and usually little to know sanity?

It is obviously a secret plot by the Japs to turn the entire world as gay as they are.

I think people like u degrade our society more than animes. Some American animation is not much better. How much plot do u find in Animaniacs? How much plot do u find in Ninja Turtles?
I have to agree with you to some extent because there is some anime that have skimpy homo clothings (haha sometimes true, good point), others have poor plots. Those are likely directed towards kids who don't really have a sense of what's a poor plot line, or what homo clothings look like. In the japanese world those are called Shonin (for young guys, usually involves action and fighting around a pseudo-plot) or Shoujo (for young girls, usually involves love stories, with probably a bit more plot than its guy counterpart, but not so entertaining story-wise from my point of view).
The subset you have seen probably doesn't represent every aspects that a manga or an anime can cover. So what's ur favorite topic? I'm 90% sure u can find a manga or an anime that will match your favorite subject. You like cooking? Music? Football? Tennis? Basketball? There are mangas and animes covering all those. Politics? Ethics? Medecine? Law? There are material covering those too. Death? Drugs? Sex? Or life in general? You bet. It's all there.
The thing with more serious and more mature topics is that they usually don't get translated, which is a shame. The people and the companies that translate consider that mangas and animes will fetch a larger audience with kids.
Here's a couple of things to check out (promise: no skimpy homo clothes ;P )
Manga: Sky high, 20th century boys, Hellsing (more or less plot here, but I thought it was just plain cool), City Hunter (this is old but it's cool and hilarious if u're a guy)
Anime: Monster

Uh, actually, I am firm in my belief that "mature" american cartoons has degraded our country far more than anime ever could, with it's coarse humor and lack of intelligent plots or character devolopement.
But then, I feel the "popular American opinion" that non-christian feelings or beliefs are evil and kids can't be exposed to anything that's not politically correct or of a safe goodly nature causes more problems for our society than anything else.
So, no, I don't feel anime is destroying our society, if nothing else, it is inadvertedly attempting to save it. For America's own hypocritical moral high ground and belief system is more than enough to drag us under.

i just dont get it why people dont like anime and keep on asking this kind of question if they dont care.

NOPE, I like sevral anime and not all are poorly drawn or any of the things you say. What anime did you watch anyway? Further more if you don't like anime why do you even care? Just Ignore it if you thinkthis. NOT everyone who likes anime is obessed . Everyones different, Deal with it

Although none of it is destroying are society, some is mind numbingly odd. Won't say any here *A-HEM! (bo-bo-bo!). But there is a great deal of anime which is wonderfully tear jerking and classical in plot and themes. Trust me dude, there is nothing wrong with anime. Except porn. There I would agree with you.

In the country of Japan anime/manga is a foundation of their culture. It is evolving and expanding beyond its own borders. To say its destroying society is to say you really haven't studied your subject very well.

though in some anime does show a sign of negativity but its only of those who are arrogant of themselves are blinded by their own ignorance to have try to open their eyes and heart and to learn to notice the philosophy morale of life which are hidden within most of the anime.
