There was a lot of debate over that when the millenium came. From what I remember there were suggestions like the "Ohs" and the "Naughts" - I think only time will tell what we call this decade when it's over with.

It will be called the 50's in 2050, 30's in 2030, etc.

You can still call it the 50's as we have not reached 2050

Good question. I've heard they just call it the "two thousands", though this would have to apply to any year since 2000 to 2099, or simply "this decade".

probably going to be called the "ohs." like "oh six" or something. but in the early 1900's it was just called that, the early 1900s. so it'll probably be the same. early 2000's.
