I know I am going to get a whole herd of George Bush haters on this one but I know he is not the anticrist so get over him already. Seriously,....who do you think it is? The Bible says he will be attractive, and very well liked when he is introduced. He will be a Peace promoter and a humanitarian on the surface....Hmm.....I have my own idea of who I think it is and he posesses all of these qualities. So,....what do you think?

Wow - you sure have gotten a lot of great answers. Jesus said there would be many antichrists (Hitler, etc.), and these all have a spirit of Satan in each of them, but I believe the one you are speaking of is the one who will reign in the Tribulation for 7 years. I can only hunch that he is alive now and I believe this person will come from a very wealthy family. The world is ruled by 12 international banking families (see The Creature from Jekyl Island) and our Federal Reserve System is owned by these bankers as is the International Monetary Fund. I believe the antichrist will have something to do with Money or be a "front man" for these banking families. We are very close to a New World Order as Bush has secretly already met with Canada and Mexico to make North America one country and say goodbye to the Constitution as we know it. Check out Aaron Russo's documentary "America: Freedom to Fascism." I know it sounds liberal but it's not - he states correctly, i believe, that the 2 political parties are just puppets to keep the American people distracted with what's really going on. What's going on? The love of money is the root of all evil... let that lead you to the Antichrist... Let us all know who you think it is too!

since everybody introduced into politics is instantly pilloried, attacked, and despised by one party or the other it seems like the antichrist will have to wait until the current environment of insta-hate and insta-intolerance goes away

aside from that it's *obviously* Barney the dinosaur - or even worse, George Bush in the Barney suit

Honestly, I don't think hes here yet. I feel that the world first has to just get a little more crazier/worse than it already is. I think it just has to reach an apex and eventually everything just falls apart. When that happens I think the antichrist will show up and then there it goes. I think our ignorance will initially just totally ignore that thought, I said initially. We will catch on though. And whats your thoughts about the antichrist, who do you think it is? I like hearing peoples opinions on different things. God bless!

1John 2:18 "...There have come to be many antichrists." So there's no single answer to that question. But... 2John 7: "Many Decievers have gone forth into the world, persons not confessing Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is the deciver and the antichrist." So you could say anyone that denies jesus, and the fact that he exsisted, is the antichrist. Woo-Hoo for the Jews

Most people think that he will come someday in the tribulation, but I believe that Nero of the Romans was the anti-Christ. It fits very well and you should look into it. Much of these prophecies have come to pass long ago.
Some people think that we are in the thousand year reign of Christ right now, but I am not really an expert on milllenialism and all the beliefs on revalations.

...he will be the accepted "messiah" of the jewish people i believe .... here are the requirements then for the jews to accept him as that :

The term "mashiach" literally means the anointed one, and refers to the ancient practice of anointing kings with oil when they took the throne. The mashiach is the one who will be anointed as king in the Latter Days. He will be the very real king of a very real Torah government in the Land of Israel: not some "spiritual" or "symbolic" king in Israel, as some have mistakenly thought (especially Christians), and certainly not some gifted Jewish spiritual leader outside the Land of Israel, as others have mistakenly thought (including thousands of Jews in our generation as well as the followers of earlier false Jewish "mashiachs" in generations past). It should be mentioned that while it is not forbidden to foolishly believe that one is the mashiach despite that he is not, it is certainly not the sign of a good grasp of the Torah to be mislead as to his nature and role, described more fully below.

The word "mashiach" does not mean "savior". The notion of an innocent, semi-divine (let alone fully divine) human being who will sacrifice himself to save us from the consequences of our own sins is a purely Christian concept that has no basis in normal Jewish thought, though it seems to have been invented or adopted by Jewish apostates in the early Church. Unfortunately, this Christian concept has become so deeply ingrained in the English word "messiah" that this English word should probably no longer be used to refer to the Jewish concept. Thus, we prefer to use the less familiar word "mashiach" throughout this page.
The Mashiach

The mashiach will be a great political leader descended by a pure male line from King David (Jeremiah 23,5). The mashiach is often referred to as "mashiach ben David" (The Mashiach, son of David). He will be well-versed in Jewish law, and observant of its commandments (Isaiah 11,2-5). He will be a charismatic leader, inspiring others to follow his example. He will be a great military figure who will win battles for Israel, freeing the Jews of foreign domination and establishing a Torah-based kingdom in Israel. He will be a great judge, who makes righteous decisions (Jeremiah 33,15). But above all, he will be a fully normal human being, not a god, demi-god, or other supernatural being.

Attractive and well-liked?

Peace promoter and humanitarian on the surface?

Obvious that rules me out.

Check out what the Bible tells us in Dan 7,8,9 and Rev 13,14, and 17. Compare this with historical events, and it comes to only one entity; the Roman Catholic Church and the Pope as its leader.
