All throughout life we are told that men would fall apart without women. The epitomy of soul, James Brown, stated:
This is a man's world, this is a man's world
But it wouldn't be nothing, nothing without a woman or a girl
History shows women being opressed, but due to rapid progression made in today's society they've gone beyond the act of fighting back (which was just) to taking to extremes. To the modern woman now, a man in their personal live is now considered an option.
Men are being pushed down now by women who think they can do anything. Women are more dominant with sex, earn more, have better jobs than before, and think they can be not just equal to but BETTER THAN men. These men are being forced to conform to what the dominant women want.
Don't get it confused, it is a good thing that women have more choices and more different role options available to them generally speaking, but it is a very serious problem that men are becoming increasingly obsolete and unneccessary.

I don't think men are becoming obsolete or unneccessary as you put it, say that though...
I do not feel the need for a man-now. When I thought I needed a man and had a man I learned I was more alone than when alone and happier alone than when was with a man.
I'm independant but think men and women are equals and if a man is being conformed then he must be allowing it.
You are right with the option, but it's all our option whether to go with it, or against it isn't it, to stick with it or get out.
If you look about, there are as many women out there with dominant men as there are men with dominant women, and unless it is a partnership the domineering will probably cause trouble in the relationship
In general, I think women are just trying to show their own independance and capabilities

Not all men have the need for a woman in their life, as not all women need a man in their life, and i personally being a woman, think it's great that women are finally able to get equal jobs and pay, equal respect, and seen as independant strong people who dont need anyone to make them complete. I am not in any way trying to bash men, I also see nothing wrong with a woman who wants to be a modern day housewife and stay home and raise the children and take care of her husband, I am just saying it's great that it is finally a bit easier for women to have the choice.

In a healthy society both are needed because one is half without other. In the previous era men were in this illusion that women need us because of physical and monetary safety and now the modern women are becoming mentally sick by asking such questions. Your existence would not have been possible if they both were not their. Learn to be humble after getting power instead of losing your head.
This is not the way to teach the males a lesson because still there are quiet a number of males who think they are Superior.
MOST OF THEM ARE BLOCK HEAD THEY WON'T UNDERSTAND

NO!! We need each other!!!! We all need love and security, a man and women make each other whole, even if some wouldn't admit it. You cant just live with half of yourself. Yes some may get along very good without a partner and I respect that, but I personally like to have someone:

The fallacy herein is your premise that men need women. That's not true. As crass as it may sound, there's nothing a woman can do for a man that he isn't capable of doing for himself. The thought that the ejaculative precursor is a root difference is arrogant and conceited. The only reason one gender needs the other is for procreation. The problem is that men are conditioned to believe that they cannot count themselves as men unless they have at least one woman. Men should wake up, beat off more, and chase skirts less. Sooner, rather than later, the playing field will even.

A good partner will never be obsolete no matter what sex
someone is. People will always need support and love.
The only time that men should feel really worried is when all women turn to lesbianism and fertility clinics, which I am not too worried about.

False premise. Many men get along fine without women in their lives.
So, I'd have to say that men and women need each other in equal (or nearly equal) measure.

It's becoming a world of equal opportunities.
If a man gets overtaken by a woman, he has only himself to blame for his incompetence.

it all depends in the sense the word "needs" is understood. Not needing in the sense as something you really have to have in order to live. But men are important in women's life as part of nature, they are just the right complement , even though it is really hard to find the right person .
