I can't get enough Battle Vixens or Tenjho Tenge, so I'm thinking of writing and drawing my own stories. Of course I wouldn't sell it, this would be in my own private hobby shelf.

The thing is, if I create more such materials, is it really the same, since I'm creating it? I enjoy consuming such goods. Producing my own seems, well, as if I wouldn't really be getting the same effect.

Do you get enjoyment from reading or viewing your own work?

I think that the satisfaction that you would get from your own creations would only compliment your love for it. Keep at it, and you may find yourself developing your own soon.

You can definitely get a degree of satisfaction out of writing stories using other people's characters; it's called 'fanfic' for fan-written fiction.

The enjoyment of a creator is different than the enjoyment of someone who is just reading the story. You might try getting together with others who enjoy the original stories and try a contest to each write a different story using those characters and then trade them and read everybody else's story to see which one you like the best.

Sometimes I re-read something that I spent a long time writing (long after I finished it and have forgotten it a little) and realize I could have (or, should have!) changed some things. That also is part of the enjoyment of being a creator-- you learn to express yourself better. It is personal growth and learning, rather than just entertainment.

Yes, very much so!
I am an artist, and when I draw something today, I`ll view it again in a month`s time, after it`s slipped my mind.
It`s always fun/ exciting/ inspirational/ interesting to see what I`d drawn, and to compare it to older work.

:-)
