There are so many French, other European, African and S. American players in the EPL these days that one has to ask if homegrown British lads are getting a fair shake at the top echelon. I'm not contesting the fact that people like Henry, Silvestre and others havent added a new dimension to the game, but has this been at the cost of genuine homegrown talent?

No. The British players benefit from being able to watch and train with with them. Take Theo Walcott of Arsenal as a prime example, he is only 17 and is playing and training with the likes of Henry. Who else would you prefer to have a young future England international taught by.

NO.

Which other "top end" league in the world doesnt have teams with heaps of foreign players? Even in "2nd rate" leagues like Portugese and Dutch Eredivisie theres heaps of South Americans and Africans.

By having top class players in the league will definitely raise the standard and having your local talents train with the BEST in the world like Henry day in day out, is just going to add to the experience of the players. Watch out for young Theo Walcott he will be much better than the over rated Rooney - and he will have something Rooney lacks- CLASS!

Yes, but youths in England still view football in all its' glamour as a way out of ordinary life.
So long as English football continues with its' monied ways, England will still be producing Gerrards, Rooneys and Cashley Coles.

I don't think so. Th best way to improve the players from england is to accept foreigners. A long time ago, the mexican league struggled for improvements in their soccer clubs but only achieved that when they started to accept foreigners.
