most kids dont like the fact that they are being subjected to watch pg mivies and g movies when a pg-13 movie might say the f word once or twice. so whats the big deal? if you talk to most people in their early 20's they will most likely tell you that their parents let them watch r rated movies.

all im saying is why protect your child from something that can happen. i mean like death and people cussing and sex. we all know it happens but why shield them, what happens when some one tells the what '' oral sex is at school'' and they come home and tell you , what are you going to do

I think that perhaps you are not a parent, and therefore your opinion on this subject is really just a made up one. Once you have a kid, you won't want yours acting like the little buggers that are out there now. So you keep things like R rated movies from them when they are kids. My parents' didn't let me watch an R rated movie. Guess that's why some kids swear worse than most adults, and others use respectable language.

It's all part of the Adult Conspiracy. Truthfully, parents who don't let their kids watch R rated movies are being good parents. Besides the language, there are often "adult themes" that can be disturbing to younger kids (and I'm not just talking about sex). My parents were quite strict - I was not allowed to see an R rated movie until I was 18, and when I was younger, my parents actually went to see a movie first before they would let me see it. With the world being the way it is today, kids should be given the chance to be kids and not have to deal with many of the topics that R rated movies consist of.

Do you have any kids? Try sitting down with an 11 year old(boy) to watch a movie and in the first 10 minutes there is either the f word about a dozen times or a sex scene or a naked woman. Yea I know you can't monitor what they watch all the time but really I want my child to grow up and not end up in jail. T.V. today seems like it promotes violence, premarital sex, foul language all sort of things I don't wish my child to be doing right now. Call me crazy but I would like more for him. I'm not perfect and my son isn't either but I would like him to make something of himself.

dont know why parents care about u watching movies with cursing in it. As long as u done repeat it and at ur age you should be able to know better than repeat it. Its the violence that most parents care about. Back when I was young (im in my 20's) my parents didnt care, but kids werent so violent back then (no school shootings like todays kids) so times have changed and parents adjusted. I for one dont care if my daughter hears or sees cursing but to much violence I will not let her watch, but then again shes only 3 so she dosent need to see any of that, and right now words are just that, words!
Try talking to your parents. Tell them u feel ur old enough to watch over pg movies and ask them to try u out with them watching it with you. Then if they feel you can handle it maybe they will let u watch it!
GOOD LUCK! To give those tender minds time to develop naturally without being subjected to attitudes that are corruptive, empty and have no moral compass.. Unconsciously...they are preserving the species. Pretty difficult in this technological era
Yeah i agree and disagree..okay like swear words arnt gonna hurt anybody but when there is sexuallity sometimes guys around the ages of 13-14 act really immiture and they get bad ideas lol but..i guess for a girl its okay to watch movies like that cuz they know when they are crossing the line...
:)

parents are like talking books.
they have knowledge they learnt from their lives(experience). they never listened to their parents and now realise that their parents were right. they could have been so much better if they listened to their parents.
they want to give the knowledge they got from their lives - if you listen - if you will for sure be succesful in your life. if you don't - you might end up like a normal person - who was born unknown to the world and dies unknown.
conclusion -- there point of view of things might sound illogical to you at the moment but they are right 98% of the time. trust them and let them be your guide in your life. do what they say.
Wow, I hope your not a parent. Its important what kids see when they are little. The older a person gets, the more they can see but when your little its extra important. And not just cuss words. If you have noticed, a lot of perverts or jerks had been subjected to things when they were younger

They sensor seeing that they care. I realize that commonly they go a little overboard in todays society the place the F phrase is a dominant part of the English language. Many times what may look strict to you may not be SO overly strict to the mom and dad. They know how their youngster will react to particular issues. I used to be no longer censored when I was observing television or films seeing that I was advised from the establishing what was once proper and unacceptable, what was once actual and not actual. If I heard the F phrase I knew from the time I was a boy or girl that that used to be a nasty phrase. I heard it in films. Of path i'm 28 and what used to be rated R then isn't R now. I was capable to carry myself as an adult none the less and my dad and mom knew I was once no longer going to move out and imitate what I noticed. Today I believe though there are too many films that glorify violence and immoral disorders. Youngsters allowed to look at this which have not had appropriate adult supervision or unsuitable beliefs take this as desirable. They will go out and imitate the gangsters, the killers and are completely desensitized to violence. I wouldn't permit and 11 yr ancient to observe The Hills have Eyes...Or Amityville Horror and many others and so forth. So far as being strict on family man and Simpson's and so on that's going overboard personally. My Sister did it together with her youngsters and it ended up being such a yearn for my nephew and niece to find out what used to be fallacious with those indicates. It did not discontinue them from making use of the words both. Eventually it isn't as much as me or you to assert what a father or mother allows and does not permit. My husband wasn't allowed to observe tv period but he would sneak over to his buddies residence to do so. He does think that some censoring is necassary to keep children grounded to reality and to not overexpose them to unnessaary violence.

Maybe because we have morals. My kids are going to learn about all that stuff and I will talk to them about it when they get old enough. My parents never let me watch R rated movies when i was a kid. If a parent does then they are messed up. What kids watch influences them more than you think.

Because parenting is the most important job they will ever be honored to have. Some topics are just way over the top for younger minds to be able to analyze.
