Well I can only answer from my own experience I have had 6 (yes 6) c-sections each recovery was very different I drove home from the hospital after 1 week in the hospital I am not sure how long they are keeping women after c-sections but it was 4-7 days. be sure to do the exercises (coughing, etc) it may be painful at first but in the long run it will help the healing process. The first two only seemed like it took about 3 weeks and I was back to doing everything as usual. the 4th was a very early delivery (27weeks) and that one seemed to heal faster I dont know why.the 5th and 6th left me with a roll of scar tissue that is still to this day(almost 8 years from the 6th) is sore sometimes it has opened up and given me a few problems but that is to be expected after that many from what my doctors tell me. Good luck and enjoy your new little life as much as possible every day and every second. God Bless

A friend of mine had a C-section and she took nearly six weeks to heal completely. Some people heal much sooner (depending on their physical activity level before pregnancy), but it really depends on the elasticity of your muscles. My friend took six weeks to heal because when she became pregnant, she did nothing but eat and sleep (and did practically no exercise) for nearly eight months of her pregnancy and she gained a lot of weight and she wasn't prepared for the shock that her body would go through after this "major surgery".

I have had 4 c-sections, and it is can take up to 4months. You will heal better if you don't over do it for the first month. to much lifting and stretching can cause you to be very sore. Don't lift anything that is heavier than your baby for the first 4 weeks. If you take it easy than maybe in 2months it won't even bother you.

I wish it took me two weeks! Mine was about 8 weeks because I wanted to be super mom when I came home from the hosiptal. (We waited a long 7 yrs to have our son) I was up doing anything and everything, I couldn't help it. But, boy did I pay for it. My incision was infected and I broke a couple stitches. I know that I will be lazyyyyyy next time around. Please take it easy and let other people do things for you.

My doctor told me to be careful for 6 weeks....I felt perfectly fine after about 2 weeks. Although it took about 8 months or so for my body to feel normal again...I am not talking about the weight gain from pregnancy, I mean the insides of my body didn't feel normal for about 8 months...I have heard this from a lot of women who have had c-sections.

My daughter had a c on 7-26 and was told she could not drive for 6 weeks, nor lift anything. Maybe the fact she is quite heavy had something to do with it, I don't know.
