The best conversation starter focuses on the person you are talking to, not about you - so mention something they are wearing, or saying, and make a comment or ask a question about it?
e.g., That is a most unusual tie, where did you get it from?
You are wearing purple and white, are you a Kansas State alumni?
people love to talk about themselves, so one quetion like that can get the started for a long time.

I'm thinking you chatting to a girl .. well sense we on it, just today I saw this FINE girl right, and instead of starin I walked up to her with a lil smile and I was cool about it, I said heyy what perfume you really would want for Christmas and she started thinking and she said one name, but from there I was like where do you usually spray it, cuz I is spray on my hands and on my neck just in case I hug a girl, and she's smiling then I be like what you wearing now, she say ohh nothing just a body spray, then I say ohh that's what I was smelling, and just keep stalling so to speak. It worked good today.
