I don't know which is worse--not having someone to talk to, or having someone who isn't interested in listening.

I talk to myself alot, my partner and I work at the same company.
I am one of his overheads.
We only really "talk" about stuff when it was a crappy day, but I have found that alot of the things that happen in my day I cant discuss with him anyway - conflict of interest.
Then again most of the conversation is about people or management that have pee'd me off.
Which is okay because lets face it, most workers dont like management anyway.
Sometimes you need someone to talk to but only when you've had a bad or good day.
What a bad answer, sorry :)

Initiate yourself. Who do you usually feel like talking about anything else? Just open your mouth and start talking about your day. Don't wait to be asked about it. Every person has his/her own problems. They don't always guess to ask ...

Fine. (*shrug*) I'm pretty self sufficient. Oh, it's nice to have someone who listens, but those people are few and far between.

I just talk to myself....or my cat. I read somewhere that talking to yourself is a sign of good mental health, it is only a problem if you argue with yourself.

While work is mostly boring, I absolutely need to have the ability to bore somebody sometimes.

It is kind of frustrating - you have no one to vent to. You get used to it. Save up the best bits and tell your friends when you see them.
