I don't believe that wil be the case at all.I also don't believe that our government will go down in shame, and,I believe that to the extent that they can,all the coalition forces there as well as the Iraqi forces, including their police, are doing a great & valiant job, especially concerning their work with children. The best web site to access regarding what US & coalition military forces are doing and the good work that they're all doing all over the world is www.military.com.I'm an Army veteran,so,I understand what they go through.
Holding all the coalition forces & Iraqi forces up in prayer is one of the best ways to support them, and the same goes for Afghanistan. There's also all kinds of material ways to support them, through many different organizations. We started something in those countries, and we need to finish it,not cut & run!

I don't think we can afford to loose this one...Now that it was discovered that Sadaam had no ties with Al Quadi; no nuclear weapons--it makes you wonder who's war it was and is?
The choices seem limited. Accelerate to the point of winning which probably means bomb the hell out of them and gain victory or get another nation to do it and save face.
Nixon considered nuking VietNam, maybe the consideration should be likewise. Wars should be fought to be won, not to maintain. This "democracy for the world" is bullshit and a political daydream....for what and at what costs?

Nope I couldn't disagree more. People who post crap like you do shouild be ashamed of being Anti-American? You claim the title of anti-war but you are living in a country of rebels and warriors. I'm guessing that would make you a ......... what? Sheep? Wimp? Whiner at the very least? The only people who should hide their shameful face are the one who are living in a country that gives the total right to and cry and whine and they abuse it. Come on over and spend the day here in Afghanistan and see if we are losing. Don't hide behind your TV and computer. Be a Man or Woman or whatever.

I really can't see a solution to it, apart from keeping an occupying force there for eternity. Look at the British troops in Northern Ireland. The invasion of Iraq may have been easy but I don't think much thought was given to the next stage.

There will be much sorrow for the many brave American lives lost.
We will be a country shamed only in that we allowed so many of our own to perish because our President can't admit he's wrong. Key word . . . allowed!!!
So, no he will not hide. Because he will put a spin on it so that someone else will be the fall guy or skapegoat . . .as always!!!

We have a job to do over there and we wont fall anywhere. Do you not have any faith in your country, or what? Thats a shame you think that way. Our president is the best weve had in awhile and thank God we have him.
No, its not Vietnam, its Iraq, and they deserve what theyre getting.

There is little similarity in the two wars. We have fought and beaten the military we came to fight in Iraq. The idiot politicians prevented much of that in Vietnam. Our soldiers could have won in Nam but our leaders didn't have the guts. I hope we have learned from that but I see people complaining that haven't the intestinal fortitude to support us in a war. Most of them are the crybabies that are our own citizens. Support the troops and pray for their return and quit whining!

I seem to remember shortly after the war first started, there were people marching on the Capital in protest. When was the last time this happened?

Part of the problem with Vietnam was that they managed to convince the American Public that the war was lost. This was done with the help of the likes of Jane Fonda, John Kerry and other treacherous leftists.
