grab a flashlight and check out your attic. It's your house and if you are affraid to look at the dark places in your own home...sorry for ya'.
One it could be leaks in the AC
or settling of the roof, they always do that, especially if the ground is soft and causesthe house's foundation itself to shift.
Look for anything nesting in the fiberglass. Squirrels, rats, cats, birds, raccoons, possums. Anything can find their way into an attic especially during winter. The is a small minute remote change even another person could nesting there. Also, trees could have a limb long enough to knock against the roof with the wind and can sound like footsteps, pull out your chainsaw and take a look.
Should anything like that, animal or person be inthere call either the police or the animal control immediately. They will take it from threre.

First of all you must go into your attic (if you have one) and check around it for holes that any animal could possibly come in. If there is none the next step would be to cover yourself in a white light and ask "In the name of God, tell me what you want!" While you say this you need to have a forceful voice. If you don't they will not take you seriously. If you feel an evil presence then you need to get some help from someone. Or you could get holy water and salt, then bless the whole house in the name of God and sprinkle the water and salt around the house. Especially the doors. That should take care of it for you. But first make sure that an animal is not causing the commotion.

Probably a raccoon or squirrel, or some bird that may have gotten stuck in the attic. During the daytime, go up into the attic (there should be an access door in on of your closets, and see if you can find out where they got in and close it up good.

In the morning once it's light go up into the attic with a flashlight and see what you have living up there. You may have a raccoon or squirrels living up there and you'll need to find a way to seal your attic so they don't come back.

Step away from that sack of Crank on your table and put down the glass pipe. Get some sleep, obviously you have been up for way too many days.

There is usually an attic, even if it is just a crawl space. It is possible that an animal has moved in. Call an exterminator.
