There's a thin line between romantic, and annoying...and romantic and stalking.
When someone is in to you...it's romantic. When the thrill is gone, it's annoying. When they tell you to go away and you don't, it's stalking.
I don't know your circumstances, but it could be that you turned the romance on too late. Romance isn't just something you do when things start getting bad. Romance is something you keep in the relationship from the courtship on.
Once a woman decides that she's had enough, all the romantic gestures in the world are just gestures.
I'm sorry things fell apart for you...good luck.

Women these days are so use to the idea of being put last that they just put up with these men who do not deserve them. But, YES there are still women out there who love romantic men. See personally if my boyfriend wasn't romantic I would not be with him still. So you will find a girl who will appreciate it someday don't worry it will pay off in the long run!

Women do want the romantic guy, but not overly romantic. In my personal opinion, I think that women tend to choose men who play hard to get, how have the attitude of being laid-back. Every woman wants to be pampered and romanticized to a point, but if it becomes overwhelming the women will lose interest. You don't want to lay it on too thick, and not too often, because then women tend to start taking their partner for granted. I am not saying not to be romantic, but don't be so routine with your ways, be spontaneous! Trust me, it will work.

I had 25 years of glorious marriage where romantic notes and gifts always exited both partners, then 2 years where they did nothing. I think if romantic acts dont get some sort of response then I think the party is already over.
But dont stop.

Yes. Women like romantic men...but that's not all we look for! Sometimes other things are more important - like being responsible, mature, ambitious, respectful, morally upright, having a good sense of humor ...etc. But being romantic is a BONUS!

Sure we want romance but not 24/7 clinging. A nice little note every now and then is great, but in moderation. A romantic dinner should be a “special” dinner, but if it happens everyday it loses its luster.

I really think that most all women want a real romantic guy. Even though they go with the jerks they still want romance.
