How far in advance does the Ellen DeGeneres show tape?

I'd like to know maybe from someone whos been to a taping....whats the experience like?

A few days before. I have been to two tapings of her show. You are there for HOURS. They don't tape in the sequence that you see on the show either. They tape the end first, then the middle, then the beginning. Or whatever order they want. It is also FREEZING in her studio. It's really fun though. She is hilarious even when they aren't filming.
