What does The name Montresor means?

i just want to know what does the character in the cask of amontillado Montresor ties up with his own name? Example like Fortunado generall spells fortunate right? but he is not very fortunate because he gets buried alive drunk with wine. i dont know how Montresor ties up with his own name in the story.

Mon tresor in french means "my treasure". Literally. But you can also use it for "my love". it's a nickname you can call your spouse, kids, loved ones...

In french the name Montresor is actually two words. "Mon" being mine and "tresor" being treasure. so it means my treasure.
