I can imagine how you feel,
but give it a chance. Have
a talk with her, and tell her
what annoys you, but don't
beat around the bushes,
and don't insult (I know you
won't, but just in case).
Be very brief and specific
and set down rules. That
is what roommating is all
about - and who knows,
you might end up being
good friends, and you
may up ending speaking
creole and french!
One never knows until
you open doors.....
If all fails, get another
roommate --- but remember,
you never know what might
come next......
Good luck!

That's what roomates are made for...to be annoying! LOL...I don't know of anyone who rooms with another that doesn't have something bad to say about them. It's like being in a family, they get on your nerves after awhile, right? You could politely ask her to go to a different room or tone down her voice when on the phone. You never know, it might work.
Also, you say "French" is not made to spoken quietly?? Chinese can be a VERY loud language, so don't say I didn't warn you!

She probably isn't talking about you! She probably wants to talk with a little privacy so she speaks in a different language. If it bothers you, you can always request a new room mate. Don't be so self conscious and concentrate on something else. When she gets off the phone, tell her she sounds upset and ask her if you can help her in some way.

Just don't live her presence as an invasion, she might be a very cool girl. Maybe you just need to wait and see, if the situation doesn't get any better, talk to her about the way you feel.
GOOD LUCK!

What makes you think that she isn't telling her friends how wonderful you are and how much she likes you? She could just be practicing for a test or that could be easier for her to speak. My advice is to trust your roommate instead of suspecting her.

Think Positive, give her a smile and things should go great.
Trust noone but yourself and instincts.

LOL, discuss it peaceful with her, be very very nice no matter what. Wait when she is not preoccupied, tell her " I want to talk to you," remember stay leveled
