They are made from cows now. Years ago they were made with pig skin. Thats why they still refer to it as The Pigskin.

They're made out of leather now. They used to be called pigskins, maybe a long time ago they were made from pigs.

now it is imatation. But the pig skin in the beginning made a better by being thinner and lighter than a cow hide with being just as durable.

its not. nowdays its just leather and rubber basically. they used to make them out of pigskin way back in the day because it was a ton more durable than cowhide.
