Yeah he's just the Leprechaun. However, the leprechaun wasn't the mascot until 1965. Before, it used to be an Irish terrier that took the name Clashmore Mike.
So I guess you could call the leprechaun Clashmore Mike if you knew about the name's history...You could.

b/c there are no irish people that are angry about notre dame it is that just native americans that get angry at "racially offensive" mascots. i tend to believe that the native american based mascots are more of a tribute to the native people than an insult. yeah it is kinda a double standard
