ESPN (formerly an initialism for the Entertainment and Sports Programming Network) is an American cable television network dedicated to broadcasting sports-related programming 24 hours a day.
It was founded by Scott Rasmussen and his father Bill Rasmussen, and launched on September 7, 1979 under the direction of Chet Simmons, who was the network's first President and CEO.

Judging from the conversing bobble heads they hire--Berman, Scott, Smith, and so on.--i've got self belief the "N" stands for "nitwit". soccer gets dissimilar coverage because of the fact A) it rather is the main usual activity in usa and B) it rather is soccer season. ESPN is infamous for merchandising New England-area communities and with the Bosox taking a back seat to Tampa Bay that leaves merely the Pats for the community to (over)hype. and that they are an NFL team. have faith me, if the crimson Sox have been in the sequence ESPN could be shoving them down visitors throats, so listening to them prattle on on the subject of the NFL does not difficulty me.
