Everybody will say Superman or Spiderman or even the Batman.
My personal best superhero is the Hulk.

My favorite is Batman. He's dark, mysterious, fights the greatest villains, and best of all, he does it with no superpowers! He uses great intelligence and deduction, along with great, though, not superhuman strength.
However, I have to say that Superman is the best superhero ever. He really got the ball rolling, and most superheroes have at least some element of Superman in them. He is really a part of American culture, has been around for 70 years, and is still very popular. When he was killed in 1992 (?) it set of a storm of controversy, and people realized just how important he was. "Supes" is still the best.

Best is a highly subjective word, but I would say Superman. The Icon. The Archetype. He's a fascinating character and if written well, you get the total package; high adventure, action galore, and thought provoking characterization.
